EBSCO is a leading provider of research databases, e-books, and other informational resources used by libraries, schools, and organizations worldwide. It offers a vast array of content across diverse subjects, including academic journals, magazines, and historical archives. EBSCO's platforms facilitate access to millions of documents, enhancing research capabilities and supporting various educational initiatives. Its user-friendly interface allows patrons to efficiently find and utilize the information they need, making it an essential tool for students, educators, and researchers alike. By continually updating its resources and integrating advanced search functionalities, EBSCO plays a crucial role in the modern information landscape.

Adobe Digital Editions or similar e-reader applications are essential for downloading and accessing EBSCO materials, as they provide the necessary framework for handling digital rights management (DRM) files. EBSCO frequently offers e-books and other digital content that are secured to prevent unauthorized distribution. These applications enable users to safely download, store, and read the materials while ensuring compliance with copyright regulations. Without Adobe Digital Editions, users may encounter difficulties in accessing the full range of resources available through EBSCO, limiting their ability to utilize important academic and professional content effectively. What EBSCO Databases Do You Have Access To?

Latourette Library patrons have access to two EBSCO databases:

Open Dissertations

Open Dissertations is an open-access database built to assist researchers in locating both historic and contemporary dissertations and theses. Created with the generous support of the H.W. Wilson Foundation and the Congregational Library & Archives in Boston, it incorporates EBSCO’s previously released American Doctoral Dissertations, and features additional dissertation metadata contributed by select colleges and universities from around the world. Providing researchers with citations to graduate research across a span of time, from the early 20th century to the present, this database will continue to grow through regular updates and new partnerships with graduate degree-granting institutions.
